Use this article if…
Use this when the opening is ready and you're wiring the PVS Toyota loom to match the supplied diagram: constant, ACC, earth and speakers. If you haven't confirmed dash fitment or boxed parts yet, start with install before you begin. If the unit's completely dead after wiring, go to power troubleshooting rather than swapping wires at random.
Quick answer
If your screen or speakers are dead straight after you plug in, the constant, ACC or earth usually doesn't match the PVS LC70 diagram, or a plug isn't fully latched. Follow only that loom sheet, then re-seat every terminal before you decide the unit's faulty.
Problem
- You need the PVS Toyota harness connected to power, earth and speakers correctly.
Symptoms
- Your harness colours don't match a random “universal” diagram.
- Nothing responds after you plug in.
Cause
- You're also planning amplifiers or factory amplifier retention, which changes the tap points and the turn-on wiring.
Fix Step-by-step
- Use only the PVS LC70 loom, then follow the PVS diagram in the box (see fascia install if you haven't got the radio out yet).
- Connect constant 12 V and ACC, then earth to clean metal.
- Keep accessory taps fused and don't overload the radio circuit.
- Re-seat the plugs and make sure no strands are stray.
- Set conservative amp gains while you learn the unit.
