Toyota Australia has introduced a revised range of heavy-duty genuine tray bodies for LandCruiser 70 Series cab chassis models, available in alloy and steel with a raft of new features and a three-year warranty on new-vehicle fitment.

Toyota Australia has rolled out an updated lineup of heavy-duty genuine tray bodies engineered specifically for LandCruiser 70 Series cab chassis variants, offering buyers a choice between alloy and steel construction with a focus on strength without added weight.

The company says the tray bodies have been professionally engineered to achieve an optimum balance of strength, durability and weight, with the revised range introducing a number of practical new features over its predecessor.

At a Glance

  • Available in heavy-duty alloy and heavy-duty steel, designed for LandCruiser 70 Series cab chassis models.
  • Internal tray length of 2400mm on both alloy and steel variants.
  • Steel tray offers three flooring options: chequer-plate, flat steel or Australian hardwood.
  • All steel trays can be colour-coded to match the vehicle's paint code.
  • Three-year/100,000km warranty when fitted at the time of new vehicle purchase.

Both the alloy and steel trays feature an oversized tapered round-tube headboard, wide round-tube steel stirrups, a steel rear window protector, tail-light protector and a tail-light wiring guard, all designed to cope with harsh operating conditions. Anti-rattle latches with knobs, a tapered headboard, quick-hitch design rope rails and zinc annealed mudguards are also standard across the new range.

Toyota Australia's divisional manager of customer services, Matthew Callachor, said the revisions delivered genuine improvements without a weight penalty. "The new heavy duty trays are stronger, yet not heavier, and continue to deliver reliable quality and functionality," he said.

The trays include heavy-duty drop sides and headboard ladder rack ears for added versatility. The steel variant goes further with drop-side stiffeners and a drop-side support kit, which maintain rigidity when the tailgate is removed. The tray body mounting system has been designed to carry the full load, not just the tray itself, according to Toyota.

Mr Callachor noted the working credentials of the vehicle underpinned the design brief. "LandCruisers are a hard working tool-of-trade and Toyota Genuine tray bodies are designed to provide strength where it is needed without placing undue stress on the chassis and suspension," he said.

Optional accessories, including a headboard tyre hanger, allow owners to configure the tray to suit individual requirements. The range carries a three-year/100,000km warranty when fitted at the time of new vehicle purchase, with accessories purchased and fitted separately covered for the remainder of the new vehicle warranty or 12 months, whichever is the greater. Conditions apply, and all warranties are additional to implied warranties under the Trade Practices Act 1974.

For LandCruiser 70 Series cab chassis owners looking to specify a work-ready platform, the expanded tray range offers a factory-backed option across a broad range of commercial and rural applications.
