Installed in the vehicle, the upgraded steering wheel integrates modern controls into the cabin while keeping the clean, factory-style look the 70 Series is known for.

Pre-facelift trucks (2007 to 2023) never came with steering wheel controls, so that kit includes the wireless control module, matched to your headunit. Facelift trucks (2023 to 2026) use factory wiring, so that kit is plug and play with no module needed.

The pre-facelift 70 Series was never built with steering wheel controls, so the factory clockspring has no provision for them. The usual way to add buttons is to replace that clockspring with a unit that has more contacts. We don't do that. The clockspring is an essential part of the SRS airbag system, so we designed around it.

Which kit does my truck need?
Pick your vehicle in the configurator above. Pre-facelift 70 Series (2007 to 2023, including 76, 78 and 79 Series with the older style wheel and no factory audio buttons) take the pre-facelift kit with the wireless module. Facelift LC70 models (2023 to 2026) take the plug and play facelift kit.
Why do I need to choose my headunit on the pre-facelift kit?
Different headunits communicate with steering wheel controls in different ways. Selecting your headunit allows us to supply the correct wireless control module kit for your setup so the buttons work correctly once installed.
Which headunit models are supported?
Factory Toyota Radio: factory systems with steering wheel controls (28-pin plug), including the 70 Series OEM screen and Prado OEM units.
Alpine: i905-LC70, i905i, iLX-F309E, iLX-F509A, iLX-F905D, iLX-F511A, iLX-F511Ai, iLX-F115D, iLX-507A, iLX-507Ai, iLX-W670A, iLX-W650E, iLX-705D and more.
Pioneer: DMH-A5650BT, DMH-Z6350BT, DMH-ZF9350BT and more.

Why is there no headunit selection for the facelift kit?
Facelift 70 Series use factory wiring for steering wheel controls. That kit plugs directly into your vehicle; no wireless module or headunit matching is required.
What happens to factory cruise control?
For vehicles with factory cruise control, the original stalk is removed and the buttons are relocated to the right-hand side of the steering wheel controls, just like on the 300 Series.
Running an aftermarket cruise control kit instead, most commonly Autostrada? It needs the newer receiver module built for 300 Series style buttons, and most existing Autostrada installs are still on the older module, so it won't work with this wheel straight out of the box. Before you order, contact Autostrada with your vehicle's VIN or your original Autostrada order number and ask them to quote the compatible module.
Why does ADR compliance matter?
ADR (Australian Design Rules) are the national safety standards all vehicles in Australia must meet. A steering wheel that compromises the airbag system, through an incorrect clockspring replacement or an unassessed design, places the vehicle outside its original compliance envelope. That means it cannot be certified by a qualified engineer, may fail a roadworthy inspection, and may not be covered by insurance in a crash. The PVS kit retains the factory clockspring and is independently assessed.
What support do I get if I buy direct from PVS?
Buying direct from PVS means you get support from our Australian team, including compatibility guidance, installation advice, and after-sales assistance if required.

Anyone can call a steering wheel compliant. We can show you the document, and so can you, to a consulting engineer, a vehicle certifier or an inspector at the roadside.

Your kit ships with the Certificate of Compliance. It records Test Report 240406, issued by ADR Compliance Services, confirming that when the steering wheel is correctly installed it complies with the Australian Design Rules listed here.

A wheel that has never been assessed cannot be shown to keep your vehicle compliant. It also cannot be shown not to. That is the position the owner is left to explain, and it is not the seller who has to explain it.
- No report to hand anyoneA consulting engineer, a vehicle certifier or an inspector at the roadside can ask how the modification was assessed. Without an assessment there is nothing to show them.
- Your insurer is entitled to knowChanging a part of the airbag and steering system is a material modification. If it has not been disclosed and assessed, a claim can be reduced or refused.
- At fault, the exposure is yoursIf an unassessed modification is found to have contributed to a crash, you can be left carrying the repair bill, the other party's damage and a personal injury claim.
- Registration and your green slipYour state requires the vehicle to keep complying with the standards it was built to. Registration, and the green slip attached to it, both rest on that.
- Most aftermarket wheels replace the clockspringThe clockspring is part of the SRS airbag circuit and is specific to your vehicle. Swapping it for a generic unit to gain button contacts cuts into the original safety wiring.
- No warranty and nobody to callOur lifetime core warranty and Sydney based support cover PVS steering wheels. They do not cover a wheel bought somewhere else.
