Quick answer
Check the dash opening before you take the factory radio out. The MK4 fits the 200 mm opening on the supported late-2009+ 70 Series, not the narrow early steel-dash slot. Unbox the harness, fascia, mic and hardware first, and photograph the opening if you're not sure.
Problem
- You want to confirm MK4 fitment and kit contents before you remove the factory radio.
Symptoms
- You're not sure your dash has the supported 200 mm opening.
- You can't tell the early steel dash from the later plastic dash.
- The harness, fascia or mic is missing before you start.
Cause
- An earlier aftermarket install left non-standard adapters or tap points you can't identify.
Fix Step-by-step
- Unbox the headunit, fascia, Toyota power/speaker harness, hardware, external mic and quick-start / QR.
- Confirm the 200 mm factory radio opening on your supported late-2009+ 70 Series.
- Check your dash isn't the early narrow steel-dash slot. The MK4 doesn't fit that slot.
- Photograph the opening if you're not sure, and don't force the trim.
- Use trim tools, bag the screws, then protect the console.
Notes
- Next: Remove factory radio and fit fascia
- Then: Harness wiring
- After power-up: First-time setup (Wi-Fi, updates, mic)
- Power issues: Won’t turn on / restarts
