Why this part
exists.
The roof of an LC70 carries everything that doesn't fit inside it.
Spare tyres. Fuel canisters. Awnings. Roof tents. Recovery boards. By the time the build is finished, the roof is the most-used surface on the truck-and most owners are climbing onto it by stepping on the bumper, the door frame, or whatever's nearest.
There's a better way.
A rear door ladder isn't a luxury on the LC70-it's a working part of the build, accessed several times a day on any expedition longer than a weekend. And yet most aftermarket LC70 ladders are designed badly. They drill into the rear quarter panel. They share load with painted body panels. They block the brake light or fight the swing-out spare tyre carrier. Five thousand kilometres later, the bolts have loosened, the paint is cracked around the mounts, and the ladder rattles every time you close the door.
We didn't want that.
The URNIETA Rear Door Ladder Kit mounts to the rear door structure itself-using factory thread points behind the door card, never into body sheet metal. SUS430 stainless step rungs, aluminum-magnesium frame, and a single integrated frame that carries three accessory mounts in one structure: a flagpole socket for high-vis pennants, an antenna mount for VHF / UHF whips, and a relocatable license plate bracket that clears the spare tyre carrier on swing-out builds.
Built for the LC70 platform-LC76, LC71, LC78, and LC79-across the 2010-2025 production range. Direct-fit on every variant. No drilling, no welding, no body modification.
It's the part of the truck that connects the roof you built to the trail you're heading into.

Three things that matter.
DOOR-MOUNTED, NOT BODY-MOUNTED.
Most aftermarket ladders bolt onto the rear quarter panel-drilling into body sheet metal, sharing load with painted panels, and slowly working themselves loose over corrugation. The URNIETA ladder mounts directly to the rear door structure using factory thread points behind the door card. No body drilling. No paint damage. The door takes the load it was already engineered to carry-the hinges. Remove the ladder in five years and the truck looks like it left the factory.
RATED FOR REAL LOADING.
Step rungs are SUS430 stainless with anti-slip texture pressed across the contact face-the same grade used on chassis components that don't rust. The frame is folded aluminum-magnesium alloy, structurally rated for repeat full-weight climbing with gear in hand. The ladder isn't decorative. It's the access route to whatever you've put on the roof.
THREE MOUNTS IN ONE.
Integrated into the ladder frame: a flagpole socket sized for high-vis pennants used in dune driving and convoy work, an antenna mount threaded for VHF / UHF / GPS whip antennas, and a relocatable license plate bracket that lets you reposition the plate clear of the spare tyre, the swing-out carrier, or whatever else is mounted to the rear. One ladder, three jobs. No additional brackets to buy.
