Why this part
exists.
The URNIETA LC250 hood is lightweight, dry-carbon, with reinforced hinges and CFD-designed functional vents. OEM-fit for 2024-2026 Land Cruiser/Prado 250, it delivers true engineering-grade performance, not cosmetic “cosplay” carbon.
The factory hood on the LC250 weighs 22 kilograms.
That weight sits at the front of the truck, ahead of the front axle, in the part of the chassis that affects steering response, suspension load, and front-end pitch under braking more than any other panel on the body. Toyota specifies stamped steel because steel is cheap, easy to repair, and adequate for a passenger vehicle. The 250 isn't a passenger vehicle.
Most aftermarket carbon fiber hoods are wet-layup parts-fiberglass-style construction with a carbon-fiber outer skin for cosmetics. They look the part in catalog photos and start delaminating after one Australian summer. The structural fiber is exposed, the resin yellows under UV, and the hood eventually warps under hood heat from the turbo. Cosplay carbon, not engineering carbon.
The URNIETA Carbon Fiber Hood is built differently.
Dry carbon construction-autoclave-cured prepreg laminate, not wet-layup composite. The same process Lamborghini uses on the Huracán bonnet, the same process Pagani uses on chassis panels. Reinforced internally with high-strength nylon fiber for impact resistance and structural integrity around the hinge points.Integrated functional vents-air intake at the leading edge for engine bay cooling, exhaust vents at the trailing edge for hot-air evacuation. Not cosmetic louvres. The vent geometry is CFD-modeled against the LC250 engine bay airflow pattern.
Built specifically for the LC250-Land Cruiser Prado 250 in global markets, Land Cruiser in North America-across the 2024-2026 production range. Direct OEM hinge fit, OEM latch compatibility, OEM washer jet routing. No body modification required.
Engineering carbon. Not cosplay carbon.
The drawing.

Three things that matter.
DRY CARBON, AUTOCLAVE-CURED.
The hood is laid up from prepreg carbon fiber-fiber pre-impregnated with controlled-ratio epoxy resin-and cured under heat and pressure inside an autoclave. The resulting laminate has uniform fiber-to-resin distribution, no voids, no resin pooling, and full UV-stable finish through the entire panel. It's the construction process used on supercar bodywork and aerospace structural components. Wet-layup carbon costs less to produce and looks the same in photographs. Under sunlight, heat, and time, it isn't.
13.5 KG OFF THE FRONT AXLE.
Replacing the 22 kg OEM steel hood with the 8.5 kg URNIETA carbon hood removes 13.5 kg from the most weight-sensitive position on the chassis-ahead of the front axle, above the steering geometry, on the moment arm that affects pitch, brake dive, and turn-in response. The reduction is measurable on a corner-balance scale and felt at the steering wheel within the first kilometre. It's the single highest-impact weight-reduction modification available on the LC250.
CFD-MODELED VENT GEOMETRY.
The intake at the leading edge and the dual exhaust vents at the trailing edge are functional, not decorative. Vent geometry was CFD-modeled against the LC250 engine bay airflow pattern-the intake feeds cool air into the airbox region, the exhaust vents evacuate hot air pooling around the turbocharger and exhaust manifold. Engine bay temperatures drop measurably under sustained load, particularly relevant for towing, dune driving at low speed, and high-altitude work where the OEM hood traps heat against the firewall.
Vehicle fitment.
Installation overview.
PREPARE VEHICLE
Remove the original hood and transfer the factory rubber seal strip onto the new carbon hood. Confirm all supplied parts.
INITIAL CHECKMOUNT HOOD
Fit the new hood using the adjustable screws built into it, leaving the lock removed for now.
BRACKET FITADJUST GAPS
Use the adjustment screws to set even left and right panel gaps against the body.
FITMENT CHECKSET LOCK & SECURE
Adjust the lock tongue length, install the lock body bracket, and tighten all hardware to spec.
