Fitted to your 70 Series, the upgraded wheel brings modern controls into the cabin without losing the clean, factory look you're used to.
Pick your vehicle in the configurator and you'll get the right kit automatically. Steel dash models (1984 to September 2009, including the early V8s) never came with steering wheel controls, so that kit includes the wireless control module matched to your headunit, plus the boss kit adaptor that mounts the wheel to the older column. Pre-facelift models (late 2009 to 2023) never had controls either, so that kit also includes the wireless control module matched to your headunit. Facelift models (2023 to 2026) use factory wiring, so that kit is plug and play with no module needed.

CLOCKSPRING STAYS
Your factory clockspring is part of the SRS airbag system, so we designed around it. No clockspring replacement, no SRS compromise.
Before the wheel comes off: set the road wheels dead ahead and never turn the clock spring while the wheel is off the column. An over-rotated clock spring breaks the horn, cruise and airbag circuits, and it's a four figure repair at Toyota. Read the clock spring guide before you start.
CRUISE CONTROL RELOCATED
If your vehicle has factory cruise control, the stalk comes off and the cruise buttons move to the right-hand side of the wheel, 300 Series style.

Your pre-facelift 70 Series was never built with steering wheel controls, so the factory clockspring has no provision for them. The usual way to add buttons is to replace that clockspring with a unit that has more contacts. We don't do that. The clockspring is an essential part of the SRS airbag system, so we designed around it.

Which kit does my vehicle need?
Pick your vehicle in the configurator above. Steel dash 70 Series (1984 to September 2009, the older steel-dash interior including the early V8s) take the steel dash kit, which includes the wireless module and the boss kit adaptor to mount the wheel. Pre-facelift 70 Series (late 2009 to 2023, including 76, 78 and 79 Series with the older style wheel and no factory audio buttons) take the pre-facelift kit with the wireless module. Facelift LC70 models (2023 to 2026) take the plug and play facelift kit.
Why do I need to choose my headunit?
Different headunits talk to steering wheel controls in different ways. Selecting your headunit lets us supply the correct wireless control module for your setup so the buttons work once installed.
What if I change my headunit later?
The module is matched to the headunit you select, so it doesn't carry over to a different one. If you change headunit later you'll need a new Wireless Steering Wheel Controls Module for the new unit. If a headunit change is on the cards, choose the option for the headunit you plan to run, not the one in the dash today. Why is there no headunit selection for the facelift kit?
Facelift 70 Series use factory wiring for steering wheel controls. That kit plugs straight into your vehicle, no wireless module or headunit matching needed.
What happens to factory cruise control?
If your vehicle has factory cruise control, the original stalk comes off and the buttons move to the right-hand side of the steering wheel controls, just like the 300 Series.
Running an aftermarket cruise control kit instead, most commonly Autostrada? It needs the newer receiver module built for 300 Series style buttons, and most existing Autostrada installs are still on the older module, so it won't work with this wheel straight out of the box. Before you order, contact Autostrada with your vehicle's VIN or your original Autostrada order number and ask them to quote the compatible module.
Why does ADR compliance matter?
ADR (Australian Design Rules) are the national safety standards all vehicles in Australia must meet. A steering wheel that compromises the airbag system, through an incorrect clockspring replacement or an unassessed design, places your vehicle outside its original compliance envelope. That means it can't be certified by a qualified engineer, may fail a roadworthy inspection, and may not be covered by insurance in a crash. The PVS kit retains your factory clockspring and is independently assessed.
