Design Notes

Full-size output, serious technology.

The LP9 Sport brings all the core technology of the LP9 series into a contemporary package designed for enthusiasts who want a full-size light without compromise. Nine forward-projecting LEDs push 9,421 lumens at 88 watts, while six additional IPT LEDs wrap a further 2,302 lumens of usable light across a 200-degree spread, filling the peripheral field that most auxiliary lights leave dark.

Direct Ducted Cooling manages heat under sustained use, keeping the LEDs performing at their best when the going gets tough. CopperDrive ensures every LED is driven at 100 percent, and MoistureBlock seals the unit against water ingress so it is ready for river crossings and heavy rain alike. The AUS Amber lens is tuned for Australian conditions, cutting through dust, fog and rain where white light falls short.

uService technology means the lens pattern and colour can be swapped out at home without specialist tools, so the light can adapt to changing conditions or simply be refreshed over time. Note that the LP9 Sport is simple on/off only and does not include the amber backlit feature; those functions are available on the LP9 Pro and Racer Editions.

02

Built-in technology.

Every LP9 Sport ships with Baja Designs' full suite of proprietary lighting technologies, engineered for reliability in demanding.
Feature01

INTEGRATED PERIPHERAL TECHNOLOGY

Six dedicated IPT LEDs generate 2,302 lumens across a 200-degree spread, lighting the peripheral field and reducing the tunnel-vision effect of forward-only lights.

Feature02

DIRECT DUCTED COOLING

An internal ducted airflow path actively manages heat during sustained high-output use, protecting LED performance under stress.

Feature03

uSERVICE

Lenses and optics are fully replaceable in the field or at home, letting you switch beam patterns or colours as conditions change, or refresh worn optics over the life of the light.

03

Installation overview.

The LP9 Sport is designed for straightforward mounting to standard auxiliary light brackets, bull bars and light bars.
Auxiliary light mounting, general guide
01

CHOOSE YOUR MOUNT POSITION

Select a mounting location on your bull bar, roof rack or light bar that gives a clear forward field of view and keeps the light clear of the bonnet line. Ensure the bracket is rated for the weight of the LP9 Sport.

02

SECURE THE BRACKET

Bolt the supplied or compatible mounting bracket to your chosen position using appropriate hardware. Check that the mount is rigid with no flex before proceeding.

03

WIRE TO A SWITCHED CIRCUIT

Run power and earth cables of adequate gauge from the light to a suitable relay and switch circuit. The LP9 Sport operates on a simple on/off function, so no hi/lo wiring harness is required.

04

AIM AND TORQUE

With the light loosely mounted, power it on to aim the beam at the correct height and angle for your driving position. Tighten all fasteners to the specified torque once alignment is confirmed.
