The MBQuart Discus DS2-216 is a 6.5" two-way component system that separates tweeter and mid driver for genuine stage control, backed by an external Cauer-topology passive crossover network.
The DS2-216 pairs aluminium inverted dome tweeters with lightweight thermal-formed polypropylene mid drivers, giving installers the flexibility to position each driver where it works hardest for the listening environment. External passive crossovers running a 12 dB per octave Cauer-topology slope keep the hand-off between drivers clean and phase-coherent. Pure copper voice coils wound on Kapton formers manage heat efficiently during sustained high-power use, while butyl rubber surrounds bonded with high-temperature adhesive keep the cone assembly stable across the temperature swings a 70 Series cabin sees on a long run. Heavy gauge steel frames and ferrite magnet motors round out a build that is straightforward to install and built to last.

Cauer-Topology Crossover Network
The external passive crossover uses a Cauer-topology filter design for a steeper, more precise 12 dB per octave roll-off compared to a standard Butterworth network, reducing driver overlap and keeping the midrange and tweeter bands clearly separated.
Aluminium Inverted Dome Tweeter
An aluminium inverted dome diaphragm delivers accurate, low-distortion high-frequency reproduction with a controlled dispersion pattern, and the separate tweeter housing lets you angle it directly toward the listening position rather than being locked to the door panel.
Kapton Former Voice Coil
The pure copper voice coil is wound on a Kapton former, a material chosen specifically for its ability to dissipate heat rapidly away from the gap, sustaining rated power handling during extended high-volume use without thermal compression.
