Partner programme terms
You send people to our website, and when they buy we pay you a share. This page explains exactly how the money is worked out and what we ask of you. It is meant to be read once and understood, so it is written in plain English.
How we know a sale came from you
Your link tags the visit, and we match it three ways: the tag we store when the visit turns into a cart, the visit history Shopify records on its own, and the address the visitor first landed on. Whichever of those shows the most recent click inside your 30 day window is the one that counts. You can see every attributed sale in your dashboard the same day it happens.
If you ever think a sale is missing, tell us. We keep the click records and can look.
What the 10% is calculated on
Take the order, subtract any discount the customer used, subtract the freight they paid, and subtract the GST. Ten percent of what is left is yours. On a typical order that works out around $62.
We do not pay commission on freight, because that money goes straight to the carrier, or on GST, because that goes to the ATO.
Returns and refunds
Commission is held for 30 days after the sale. If the order is returned or refunded in that time, the commission comes off before it is ever paid, and your dashboard will show it as reversed.
If a refund happens after we have already paid you, we take that amount off your next payout rather than asking for money back. If there are no further payouts to take it from, we will write it off. We are not going to chase you for it.
Getting paid
We run payouts monthly. Add your BSB, account number and account name in the dashboard, and your ABN if you have one.
- If you do not give us an ABN, the ATO requires us to withhold 47% of the payment and send it to them. This is not our rule and we cannot waive it. There is an exemption for payments of $75 or less.
- If you are registered for GST, tick the box and we add 10% GST to your commission and issue a recipient created tax invoice, so you do not have to raise one.
- Commission is income. What you do about tax is between you and your accountant.
What we ask of you
- Say it is an affiliate link. Australian consumer law requires you to disclose a commercial relationship, and the ACCC has been enforcing it. A clear line such as "affiliate link, I earn a commission" or #ad is enough. This one matters to both of us.
- Do not bid on our brand in paid search. No ads on "PVS Automotive" or close variations. That traffic already knows us, so we would be paying twice for the same customer.
- No coupon or cashback sites. The programme has no discount code, so there is nothing to list.
- No buying through your own link for your own orders.
- No forced clicks, pop unders, bots, or cookie stuffing. Clicks a person did not choose to make are not clicks you earned.
- Do not speak for us. Do not claim to be PVS Automotive, and do not invent specifications, fitment or warranty terms. If you are unsure about a product detail, ask us and we will tell you.
If something here is broken we will talk to you first. Repeated or deliberate breaches mean the affected commission is not paid and the partnership ends.
The boring but necessary bits
Either of us can end the partnership at any time by saying so. Commission already approved still gets paid.
We may change these terms, and if we do we will tell you before the change affects anything you have already earned.
Your dashboard shows order numbers, values and commission. It deliberately does not show customer names, emails or addresses, because that is their information rather than ours to share.
