Wide cover when the track bends.
Standard white driving beams throw light straight ahead, but tight bush tracks, rocky switchbacks and creek crossings demand wide peripheral coverage. The S8 20-inch amber wide-corner bar is tuned precisely for that gap, flooding the corners and edges of the road with a broad amber wash that cuts through dust, fog and rain far better than white light alone.
Amber wavelengths scatter less in airborne particles, so the light you put out actually reaches the ground in front of you instead of bouncing straight back into your eyes. Pair that optical advantage with the build quality Baja Designs is known for and you have a bar that earns its place on the roof rack or bull bar of any serious 4WD.
S8 Series built right.
AMBER WIDE-CORNER OPTICS
The wide-corner beam pattern maximises peripheral illumination, keeping the edges of the track visible on tight bends and undulating terrain.
AMBER LENS ADVANTAGE
Amber light cuts through dust, rain and fog with reduced backscatter, giving you a clearer picture of the ground ahead in the conditions most likely to slow you down.
S8 SERIES CONSTRUCTION
Baja Designs' S8 Series is engineered for demanding off-road use, with a housing and lens assembly built to handle vibration, water and the general punishment of outback travel.
Installation overview.
CHOOSE YOUR MOUNT POSITION
Decide on roof rack, bull bar top, or bumper mount. The straight profile suits a flat or near-flat mounting surface for the cleanest fitment and best beam projection angle.
FIT THE MOUNTING BRACKETS
Attach the supplied or compatible universal brackets to your chosen mounting surface, ensuring the bar sits level and is oriented so the beam projects correctly onto the road ahead.
WIRE TO A SWITCHED POWER SOURCE
Run wiring from the bar to a suitable relay and switch, fused at an appropriate rating for the bar's draw. Keep wiring loomed and protected from heat sources and sharp edges.
AIM AND TEST
Before hitting the track, aim the bar so the wide-corner beam spreads into the corners rather than pointing straight into oncoming traffic. Test in a dark area and adjust the tilt angle as needed.
