Design Notes

Built around real trail demands.

The LP9 Pro traces its lineage directly to Baja Designs' iconic La Paz HID, carrying that legacy forward with a nine-LED forward array and six additional LEDs dedicated to Integrated Peripheral Technology (IPT). That IPT array delivers a 200-degree spread of usable light, wrapping illumination around the sides of the trail where standard auxiliary lights leave you blind.

Heat is the enemy of LED longevity, so Baja Designs engineered their proprietary Direct Ducted Cooling (DDC) system into the LP9 Pro housing. DDC channels air from the front of the housing directly over the rear heat sinks, dramatically improving cooling capacity and keeping the LEDs running at full performance even during extended use.

The Driving/Combo pattern fits the LP9 Pro with both 42-degree driving optics and 8-degree spot optics in a single pod, giving you smooth, blended coverage across near-field, mid-range and distance lighting zones simultaneously. Three power modes, DRL through to full high beam, mean you always have the right amount of light for the conditions.

02

What sets the LP9 Pro apart.

Every feature in the LP9 Pro exists for a reason, from the thermal engineering to the optics stack and the weatherproofing that keeps it.
Feature01

IPT PERIPHERAL SPREAD

Six dedicated Integrated Peripheral Technology LEDs add a 200-degree spread of usable light around the primary beam, eliminating the dark edges that traditional auxiliary pods leave on the trail.

Feature02

DRIVING/COMBO OPTICS

A dual-optic setup combines 42-degree driving and 8-degree spot lenses in one pod. You get smooth light blended across near-field and distance lighting zones without needing a second light.

Feature03

DIRECT DUCTED COOLING

Proprietary DDC technology routes airflow from the front grille of the housing directly over the rear heat sinks, keeping operating temperatures low and protecting long-term LED performance.

03

Installation overview.

The LP9 Pro is a universal auxiliary pod designed to mount on bull bars, roof racks, A-pillars, windscreen hoops and custom brackets.
Sold as a single pod. Mounting hardware and wiring harness sold separately. Check Baja Designs' accessory range for compatible brackets and.
01

SELECT MOUNTING POSITION

Choose a position that gives the desired beam angle and keeps the pod protected from direct rock strikes where possible. Common locations include bull bar wings, roof rack fore-rails and A-pillar mounts.

02

FIT MOUNTING BRACKET

Attach the appropriate Baja Designs bracket or a compatible third-party mount to your bar or rack using the supplied hardware. Ensure the bracket is solid with no flex before proceeding.

03

CONNECT WIRING HARNESS

Run the wiring harness from the pod back to the battery and switch location, keeping cables away from heat sources and moving parts. Use a fuse rating matched to the harness specification.

04

AIM AND SECURE

With power connected, aim the pod to your preferred beam angle, then torque the mounting bolts to spec so the light holds its aim on corrugated tracks.
