The factory wheel in the Y62 Patrol does the job, but it doesn't lift the interior much. This core swaps in carbon fibre accents and perforated leather grips and keeps every original function intact, because your airbag, your controls and your back cover all move straight across from the old wheel.
The result looks like it left the factory this way. No adapters, no modifications, no guesswork on fitment. It suits both left-hand and right-hand drive, so it fits Australian-delivered Y62 Patrols and grey-import QX80s alike.

Installation overview.
DISCONNECT BATTERY
Use a 10mm socket to disconnect the negative battery terminal. Wait at least 10 minutes before you continue, so the airbag system can discharge.
REMOVE FACTORY AIRBAG
Use a flathead screwdriver to release the airbag retaining clips, then carefully unplug the airbag connector from your original wheel.
REMOVE ORIGINAL WHEEL
Use a 19mm deep socket to remove the steering wheel nut, then pull the original wheel from the column. Note its position for reinstallation.
TRANSFER COMPONENTS
Move the back cover, wiring harness and button set from your original wheel onto the new core, then fit the airbag.
REINSTALL AND TEST
Mount the new wheel onto the column with the 19mm deep socket, reconnect the battery and check that all controls and airbag warning lights work.
