Why upgrade your mirrors.
The 70 Series has been in production for over four decades. A huge number still wear the original manual mirrors from the day they rolled off the line. Manual mirrors are a minor frustration on a short commute. On a long touring trip, across highways and corrugated tracks, they become a real problem.
This kit is built around an OEM-style electric mirror unit, designed and manufactured in Japan, so the fit, finish and glass quality are what you'd expect from a factory part. The PVS Automotive wiring harness uses original Toyota-style plugs at the mirror end, so you won't splice any wires there. It's still a genuine wiring installation, not a plug-in accessory: fitting it means drilling a cable path through the door, wiring power from the cigarette lighter, and installing the supplied switch on the dashboard. We recommend a qualified auto electrician or installer for the job.
The heated variant clears fogging and frost in cooler climates or at altitude. Running a 76 Series Wagon daily or taking a 79 Series Dual Cab on extended trips, this is a clean, permanent upgrade that looks and operates like it came from the factory.
What's in the kit.
OEM-STYLE ELECTRIC MIRRORS
Left-hand and right-hand mirror units designed and manufactured in Japan for OEM fit, finish and glass quality.
WIRING HARNESS INCLUDED
A purpose-built harness with original Toyota-style connectors at the mirror end, so there's no splicing there. Fitting it is still a real wiring job: you drill a cable path through the door and route it to the factory loom.
HEATED VARIANT AVAILABLE
The heated option adds mirror element heating, so you can clear fogging and frost in cold or high-altitude conditions.

How it wires in.
REMOVE EXISTING MIRRORS
Unclip and remove the factory manual mirrors from both door mounts.
DRILL AND ROUTE THE HARNESS
A hole is drilled in the door behind the mirror to pass the cable through. The PVS wiring harness then feeds through the door and connects into the factory door loom using OEM Toyota-style plugs, so you won't need to splice at that connection.
FIT MIRROR UNITS & RUN POWER
Mount the electric mirror units to the factory door positions on both sides. Power for the kit comes from the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket.
INSTALL CONTROL SWITCH
Fit the included mirror control switch to the right-hand side of the dashboard and connect it via the harness. Test adjustment and, if fitted, mirror heating before you finish up.
